Meet Your Guide
“I discovered and fell in love with tango the moment I stepped into my first milonga. From that day on, my passion for this dance has only grown stronger. I’ve written a book of short stories about tango, captured its essence through photography in milongas, and continue to dance with ever-growing devotion.”

The tour continues with a visit to an authentic milonga, where we witness social tango in its true essence: spontaneous, intimate, and rich in codes and traditions. Upon arrival, participants join a group class alongside other foreigners or local regulars — a fun and unique moment that allows them to experience tango through their own body and movement. During the class, the guide will accompany them as a translator, partner, and support, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and included.
After the class, guests may choose to try their first basic steps on the dance floor with real milongueros or just sit and observe the unfolding of the milonga while they uncover the unspoken codes and rich traditions of this quintessential porteño ritual with the help of their local guide and expert, who provides context, stories, and insights to decode what’s happening on and off the dance floor.

The history of tango was extremely interesting! She gave us a great perspective of how the city evolved as well, its history. We had even the chance to have an introduction of how to dance Tango and that was amazing!!! She's a great teacher for us. We had a lot of fun and ended our tour in a Melongam. It gave us a chance to observe experienced dancers. She explained to us all the codes and that was very pleasant to do it live! She recommended places to us too! Many thanks María for this unforgettable tour! We did after that other 2 activities/tour and that was far from the excitement and fun we had with her tour! We began with the best one.. ;) so we definitely recommend her tour! If you have only time for one tour, do this one! Campbell25 December 2024 As beginner tango dancers we absolutely loved this tour. Misty20 November 2024 Truly a must do tour for your trip to Buenos Aires. Maria is incredible and not only knew absolutely everything about Tango but also the city and gave us some incredible recommendations that made our trip so much better. Her passion for Tango is truly contagious and made for such a fun and high energy tour. We never would have wondered into a Milonga alone and it turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. It really gave us an opportunity to see something so unique and local. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. It is an absolute must do! Christine19 September 2024 My partner and I really enjoyed our experience with Maria. A wonderful insight into the history of tango, combined with a visit to a milonga, which is something we would not have done by ourselves. That was a truly memorable, fascinating experience. Maria was so friendly, warm and knowledgeable, and even helped us to buy tickets for a theatre show. Even a huge thunderstorm didn’t deter her! We would definitely recommend this tour. Monika17 July 2024 Maria‘s Tango Tour is truly special! Not only does she seem to know literally everything about Tango and how this unique dance has emerged out of the equally unique Argentinian experience - but also her own and personal passion for the dance and its traditions comes across in a way that makes you understand and appreciate it with authenticity! This is a tour that works well if you either enjoy dancing yourself or would like to enjoy it - because in the end Maria takes you to an absolutely magical place where you can see the “normal” joy that Tango brings to all ages! Thank you Maria for sharing so many gems! Gracias! Loree17 June 2024 María is an absolute JOY! We met her when she lead our Empanada Cooking Class, we then asked about other tours and we agreed to join her for a Tango Tour. This Tour surpassed all expectations, Maria is a wealth of knowledge about all things Argentine. But Tango is definitely her passion, she just lights up when she shares the history and the intricacies of the dance. We would highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to have Maria as your guide you will always have a friend in Buenos Aries.
María was a wonderful guide! I brought my mother in law and son to Buenos Aires to dance tango since my son has been taking tango lessons. I wanted a more local experience but was intimidated to go into a milonga by ourselves. I found Maria on Airbnb experiences and she was very easy to communicate with. We first learned about the history of tango and then She brought us to a milonga and taught us the milonga etiquette. Maria took my son out on the dance floor to “break the ice” and from that moment on my son was asked to dance all night long by both men and women and had a blast! Thank you Maria for this wonderful local experience! I highly recommend!!
I received friends who live abroad interested in learning something about the origins of tango and I found this tour to be the ideal experience for them to learn about the history and a milonga, something very different from a tango show. María not only took us to see places in the city but, through her story in perfect English, she also took us on a journey through the history of tango from its origins to the present day. Then, the visit to the milonga was a surprising, interesting and fun experience.
As an Argentinian, it is comforting to know that an expert guide like María knows how to show our tango to the world and dresses us in such a pleasant and interesting way.
100% recommended experience.

It was my first time in Buenos Aires, and Maria made it unforgettable. She takes you to some must see spots, and because of all her knowledge it becomes an unique experience. Thank you Maria! I had a lot of fun!
Last December my family had such a wonderful evening with Maria Ines. We learnt all about the history of the tango, then visited a tango hall to watch some amazing dancing. It was one of the most memorable times for me. Thank you and love from Bill, John, Milo, Teo and Otto
This tango tour exceeded my expectations! Maria Ines is a brilliant guide, she provided a captivating exploration of tango's history and evolution and topped it off with a visit to an authentic milonga, a social gathering where tango is danced. If you're keen to learn about the real tango, beyond the tourist traps, this tour is a must!
This tour was one of the most incredible things I did in Buenos Aires. I truly loved the way Maria took you through the history of tango, which is an essential part of the culture of this great city, and she was also an amazing guide. Highly recommended!!
Great tour! Loved hearing about the history of Tango while seeing the actual historical buildings and landmarks in real time. Also, ending the tour at a real tango house that locals go to was so cool! Highly recommend!!
Discover the inner world of tango through my book Entre La Patagonia y el Tango
This book was born spontaneously—from a hilarious anecdote starring a dear friend, from the irresistible urge to dance tango day and night, and above all, from a deep longing to be at the milonga even when I was miles away, living for a time in Patagonia.
Immersing myself in writing these stories became a kind of milonguero placebo, soothing both my mind and my feet —which, as they wandered along the beaches of Lake Nahuel Huapi in Patagonia, imagined themselves strapped into high heels, gliding across the dance floor, swept away by the music and the tango embrace.
